Welcome
Thank you for your interest in our Cub Scout Pack. The overall mission of Pack 461 is “Fun with a purpose”. The purposes of cub scouting are: 1. Character Development 2. Spiritual Growth 3. Good Citizenship 4. Sportsmanship & Fitness 5. Family Understanding 6. Respectful Relationships 7. Personal Achievement 8. Friendly Service 9. Fun & Adventure 10. Preparation for Boy Scouts The pack consists of dens, which are groups of boys in the same school grade. The dens meet 2-3 times per month. Once a month, the dens come together for a pack meeting. The pack meeting will include skits, songs, jokes, games, advancement recognition and fellowship. Some pack meetings will include special events such as the Blue and Gold banquet, the Pinewood Derby or a bonfire. One of the best parts of cub scouting is that the leadership is all volunteers. Please consider where you could help the pack. | Summer Announcements We need pictures for the website, please send them to cubmaster@cubpack461.com. This weekend's Cubanapolis has been cancelled. I apologize to the scouts who have spent time making a car to race. Our next event will be Saturday, July 19. A picnic with the Raingutter Regatta.
“Keep the memories. Donate the uniform.” During the month of July, all 25 Pilgrim Dry Cleaners locations as well as our Scout Service Centers and all Scout Shops will be accepting donations of used uniforms. These uniforms will be cleaned and made available for any Scouts or leaders who would have difficulty purchasing one. There will be print ads promoting the drive in the Sun Sailor Newspapers as well as the Star Tribune, paid for by the event sponsor, Pilgrim Cleaners. We are also sending press releases to all related community newspapers. In this first-year pilot program, we are concentrating efforts in the western metro area, where Pilgrim Dry Cleaners have their locations. We hope to expand in the years ahead based on our experience and securing additional sponsors. This is a great opportunity to help Scouts in need as well as raise Scouting’s visibility.
